What is Cordyceps Militaris
This new mushroom species, cordyceps militaris, has long been used in Chinese and Tibetan traditional therapy. Gujarat scientists have successfully cultivated it at the Gujarat Institute of Desert Ecology (GUIDE) in Kutch. These mushrooms were grown in 35 jars in a lab in a controlled atmosphere. It produced 350 grams in 90 days
According to a report, the institute has discovered that the mushroom can be used to treat breast cancer. They now hope to train entrepreneurs to cultivate the mushrooms on a laboratory size for a small cost.
